STAINLESS STEEL 316
Overview
316 stainless steel is a kind of Austenitic stainless steel. The addition of Mo composition results in a remarkable improvement on its corrosion resistance and high temperature strength. It can withstand high temperatures up to 1200-1300 degrees and can be used under harsh circumstances.
Features of Inox 316
316 stainless steel features better corrosion resistance than 304 stainless steel. Its good corrosion resistance manifests itself in the production of pulp and paper. Moreover, 316 stainless steel is resistant to erosion caused by marine and aggressive industrial atmospheres. However, it is not advisable to use 316 stainless steel continuously under the temperature of 427 ° C - 857 ° C (800 ° F - 1575 ° F). Beyond this temperature range 316 stainless steel can be continuously used for its excellent good heat resistance. 316 stainless steel also features good welding properties. All standard welding methods are applicable.
316 Applications
- 1) Pulp and paper equipment;
- 2) Heat exchanger;
- 3) Dyeing equipment;
- 4) Film processing equipment;
- 5) Pipeline;
- 6) Materials for exterior construction in coastal areas;
- 7) Solenoid valve field (housing, clamp, ball, valve body, valve seat, nut, valve stem, etc.);
- 8) Others.
