If you are a fan of simple yet classic designs for everything you use, you will love Villeroy & Boch kitchenware. However, you will love this brand more for their high material quality and artful crafts presented.

The stainless steel material in use is also food grade 304, but not the common 8Ni18Cr. Instead, Villeroy & Boch brand applies higher-alloy 304, i.e., 10Ni18Cr in its stainless steel dinnerware, which improves the product safety and service life. Combined with exquisite craftmanship, Villeroy & Boch stainless steel dinnerware looks simple yet luxurious, classic yet stylish with the unique metallic lines and lusters the brand conveys.

Food Grade 304 Stainless Steel

304 contains 8% nickel and 18% chromium, therefore from time to time you may also hear people say 8Ni18Cr rather than 304. According to the nickel content added, 304 stainless steels can also be classified into 18/8 and 18/10, as introduced in previous article 304 stainless steel for cookers.

304 is the most common grade applied in almost every industry, including food industry. 304 is called food grade because it can guarantee the safety and integrity of food and beverage. With 304 stainless steel sheets, the food industry can create sanitary and quality stainless steel kitchenware that boasts both hygienic conditions and aesthetic appeals.

Because of the high chromium (18% above) added, 304 stainless steel exhibits outstanding corrosion resistance against most food products, which are mildly acid or/and slightly salty. 304 is easily bent, welded and processed. A lot of finish options are also available for artful designs. They are more durable in use than 430 stainless steel and more affordable than 316L stainless steel in choice. Both 430 and 316L are also applied in food industry, but less popular than 304.

Stainless Steel Sheets

Stainless steel sheets play the leading role in the total consumption of stainless steel materials, mainly presented in the form of sheets, pipes, bars and wires.

Among these four categories, stainless steel sheets have the most options in finish processing, whether in terms of texture, color or patterns. This variety also makes stainless steel sheets quite popular and trendy in furniture applications. Apart from the above mentioned civil uses, stainless steel sheets are widely seen in industrial applications, in building, metal parts, petroleum, chemistry, light industry, mechanical engineering and more.
