Stainless Steel #3 Slit Edge
Stainless steel no.3 edge is the most classic and standard edge, coming off directly from slitting lines. When slit edge is mentioned, it is always referring to #3 Slit Edge. When slit edge is required, the coil edges will be slit in pace with the coil slitting process. Kindly check the edging waste from the slitting process as below photo. After slitting, the edges will be smoother than before, for most thickness. This process is not mandatory, and most suppliers will skip it to save cost. It should be specially mentioned in the contract if edge smoothness means a lot. Stainless steel #3 edge can leave a bit burr but is neglectable for most applications.
