Stainless steel channel bars can be classified into three categories according to production technology: hot rolled stainless steel channel bar, welded stainless steel channel bar & bent stainless steel channel bar. The difference among them is clearly displayed with the drawings displayed as below:
1) Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Channel Bar
As shown in the drawing, the radius in the leg clearly sets hot rolled stainless steel channel bar apart from other process shaped stainless steel channel bar, like welding or and bent process. The leg thickness of hot rolled stainless steel channel bar is not uniform as perceivable from the drawing. This is hardly faked through other process even some suppliers claim theirs formed by hot rolled process but actually not. Nonetheless, if you feel dizzy judging the process from the shape, there is another way for you to make the right choice. Stainless steel channel bar produced in China are not confirming to EU standard or UPE.

For other sizes rather than the above listed hot-rolled sizes, welded or bent stainless steel channel bar is optional. The main difference from hot rolled stainless steel channel bar is that the thickness of ss welded channel or ss bent channel is uniform (t=d as table 1). Welded stainless steel channel bar is straight in angle, while for bent stainless steel channel bar, the angle is always bigger than 90 degrees. It is also easily judged from shape. Now welded stainless steel channel bar is very good looking as the weld seams is inside. If hot rolled stainless steel channel bar size is not achievable, welded ss channel bar is a good choice.
